The Friedens Water System serves Somerset Township residents in the Village of Friedens and surrounding areas. The Friedens System was built to replace nine smaller water companies in the area. Approximately 37 million gallons of water is purchased annually from the Somerset County General Authority (SCGA) to serve 390 residences and businesses. SCGA's water source is the Quemahoning Dam.
